We visited the German war cemetery at Recogne. It has 6807 German soldiers buried there. We waited a while before we went in there as there was a short heavy rain shower when we arrived.
At first German and American soldiers were buried together at this cemetery. In 1947, the Americans were transported to the US or the American war cemeteries at Henri-Chapelle or Neuville-en-Condroz. German soldiers from other graves were transported to this cemetery. That is why there are also victims of 1940 to find and not only from the battle of the bulge.
