Because of the warm weather we went to a lake, but first we visited Gerardmer. We saw a war monument there. Originally it was dedicated to the victims of WW I, but like it often happens here names of victims of WW II were added on later.
Around this monument were four other monuments for different wars. One of them was for WW II.
Before the Germans left this town they set it on fire. This big fire destroyed 85% of the city.
