It was another day that was actually too hot to do sightseeing. But we came here to see something and so we did. We went to Chalampé. The Germans withdrew over the Rhine using the last bridge that they had. The bridge was blown up on February 9th and that ended the battle of the Colmar Pocket.
To get to the bridge we had to pass a frontier guard. The Soccer World Championship was this year in Germany and on this day France had to play against Germany. Because we had a Dutch license plate on our car we could drive on without problems.
