Colmar was liberated on February 2, 1945. This liberation still wasn’t the end of the Colmar Pocket. It took until February 9th to clear the whole pocket. The American general Milburn stopped at the border of Colmar and gave the honor to the French general Schlesser and the 5ème division Blindée of the 1ère Armée Française (5th Armour Division of the 1st French Army) to liberate the city.
