Next to the house of Kate ter Horst is the Oude Kerk (Old Church). This site was already defended by the English and they passed this church on their way to the Rhine to be evacuated on September 25. Unfortunately they had to leave 300 soldiers. But in the nighttime of October 22 they were also evacuated (operation Pegasus I).
We had a good view to the railway bridge. Just before the English arrived the bridge was blown up by the Germans.
