We arrived at the Willem-Hikspoorsbrug, a bridge between Eindhoven and Nuenen named after Willem Hikspoors. On September 19, the German tanks wanted to cross this bridge over the river Dommel. Willem Hikspoors told them that the bridge could only carry 8 ton (8000 kg), not enough for the tanks. In actualality, the bridge could carry a tank but the Germans believed Willem and had to drive a longer way.
