D-Day the attack

This route has the name of "decision day"; the results of the first day on the beaches decided the rest of the war. This route winds through the American Omaha beach and inland through the German war cemetery and Saint-Lô.
Omaha beach is from Colleville-sur-Mer until Vierville-sur-Mer. The 5th US Corps under command of major-general Leonard T. Gerow, including the Big Red One, landed there.
