Sword Beach was between Ouistreham and Lion-sur-Mer and was assigned to the British 3rd Infantry Division of major general T.G. Rennie.
Juno Beach was between Luc-sur-Mer and Graye-sur-Mer and was assigned to the Canadian 3rd Infantry Division of major general R.F.L. Keller.
Gold Beach was between Graye-sur-Mer and Arromanches-les-Bains and was assigned to the British 50th Infantry Division of major general D.A.H. Graham.
